Principios
Los miembros del Apostolado de la Cruz seguimos un proceso de formación integral, progresivo y estructurado, constante y permanente, impregnado de la Espiritualidad de la Cruz, con el fin de que el espíritu de la Cruz se convierta en el principio animador de toda nuestra vida.
Nuestra formación tendrá clara referencia eclesial y social.
El objetivo de la formación es guiarnos personal y comunitariamente hacia la transformación en Jesucristo sacerdote y víctima, contemplativo y solidario, para dar gloria a Dios, consolar el Corazón de Jesús y extender el reinado del Espíritu Santo, que incluye la construcción del Pueblo sacerdotal, los procesos personales y comunitarios de santidad y la solidaridad salvífica al estilo del Buen Samaritano del Evangelio (cf. Lc 10,25-37).
La formación se realiza según los principios y criterios de la Iglesia y de [… los] Estatutos, y de acuerdo a las directrices de los Consejos Regionales para su jurisdicción.

Etapas
El proceso de formación comprende dos etapas: la formación básica y la formación permanente.
Terminado el catecumenado, los Apóstoles de la Cruz continuamos una formación permanente, que nos capacita para responder a las necesidades de la Iglesia y del mundo.

Áreas
La formación en el Apostolado de la Cruz es integral. Abarca las diversas dimensiones de nuestra persona: humana (personal, familiar-comunitaria, social), espiritual, apostólica e intelectual.
Los Apóstoles de la Cruz nos esforzamos por crecer en el espíritu misionero y la capacidad de trabajar en equipo, por desarrollar nuestro sentido social y por asumir nuestra responsabilidad como ciudadanos y así generar un compromiso solidario.

Agentes
Cada Apóstol de la Cruz es el primer responsable de su propia formación.Los Consejos Regionales son los responsables de promover y velar para que la formación se lleve a cabo según lo señalado en los Estatutos, a través de las estructuras intermedias de la Región, prestando especial atención a la elección y capacitación de formadoras/es.
Las/os formadoras/es realizan su ministerio en nombre del Apostolado de la Cruz. De esta manera contribuyen eficazmente al desarrollo y vitalidad de la Obra, procuran la formación integral de todos y atienden a la comunidad y a cada persona en particular.

Medios
Para nuestra formación, pondremos especial atención en favorecer
- una genuina experiencia de Dios (oración, discernimiento, contacto con la realidad, estudio…),
- una profunda vivencia de comunidad (diálogo, fraternidad, compartir experiencias…) y
- un compromiso social y eclesial de servicio al hermano (compasión, solidaridad, acción apostólica, expansión de la Obra…).
Cada Región procurará los medios necesarios para la formación de los Apóstoles de la Cruz.

Principles
Members of the Apostleship of the Cross follow a process of comprehensive formation. Imbued with the Spirituality of the Cross, the process is progressive and structured, continuous and permanent, so that the Spirit of the Cross becomes the inspiration in our life.
Our formation will clearly have an ecclesial and social orientation.
The objective of formation is to guide us personally and communally toward the transformation in Jesus Christ Priest and Victim, Contemplative and Solidary, in order to give glory to God, console the Heart of Jesus, and extend the reign of the Holy Spirit, which includes the building of a Priestly People, fostering serious and mature lives of holiness, and strengthening the Christian commitment to solidarity in the style of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel (Lk. 10:25-37).
Formation unfolds according to the principles and criteria of the Church and of the Statutes, and in accordance with the guidelines of the Regional Councils acting within their jurisdictions.

Stages
There are two stages in the process of formation: initial formation and on-going formation.
Following the initial formation, the Apostles of the Cross continue with on-going formation, which prepares them to respond to the needs of the Church and the world.

Scope
Formation in the Apostleship of the Cross is comprehensive. It embraces the different dimensions of formation: personal (as an individual, in family and community life, socially), spiritual, apostolic, and intellectual.
The Apostles of the Cross strive to grow in zeal for the mission and ability to collaborate with others, to develop an interest for what happens around us, accepting the responsibilities of being mature citizens who promote a more solidary world.

Agents
Each Apostle of the Cross is the first to be responsible for his or her own formation.
The Regional Councils are responsible for the promotion and oversight of formation, ensuring that it is carried out in accordance to the provisions of the Statutes, through the mid-level representatives of the Region, paying special attention to the election and training of Formation Leaders.
Formation Leaders fulfill their ministry in the name of the Apostleship of the Cross. In this way they effectively contribute to the development and life of the Apostleship, ensuring the comprehensive formation of all members, and serving both the community and each individual.

Means
For our formation, we focus our attention
- on fostering a genuine experience of God (through prayer, discernment, interest in what happens in the world, and study),
- a profound community life (dialogue, fraternity, sharing experiences), and
- a commitment to social and ecclesial service to all (compassion, solidarity, apostolic action, and expansion of the Apostleship).
Each Region will provide the necessary means to support the formation of the Apostles of the Cross.
